_MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENTS_: Prior to placement in this position, the selected applicant must be assigned to a compatible position as required by TPR 303. _AREA OF CONSIDERATION_: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is restricted to current Guard members of the Army or Air National Guard.
You must maintain membership in National Guard for continued employment. Wear of the military uniform is a requirement of this position. You must obtain/maintain a compatible military position.
__DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:__ This position is located in the Joint Force Headquarters-State, Operations Directorate (J-3), Army National Guard (ARNG) Training Center, Ammunition Supply Point (ASP). The primary purpose of this position is to perform the handling, examining, and identifying of ammunition and explosives to detect defects, serviceability, deterioration, compliance, etc. Secondary duties involve the receipt, storage, packing, issue, and transfer of ammunition and explosive items. Work requires a primary knowledge of handling, examining, and identifying ammunition and explosives, and a secondary knowledge of the receipt, storage, packing, issue, and transfer of ammunition and explosive items.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates the applicant's ability to use and maintain tools and equipment associated with the type of work to be done, and to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Must have a knowledge of and the ability to apply safety standards.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 12 months of specialized experience which has provided the applicant with (1) experience handling and destroying explosives and toxic materials safely, (2) experience which demonstrates a working knowledge of policies, regulations, and technical publications, (3) experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical publications, (4) experience and/or training which demonstrates the ability to follow safety procedures in the handling of ammunition, explosives, and toxic materials, and (5) experience which demonstrates the skill to use and interpret radial monitoring instruments, photographs, chemical analyses, and x-ray equipment.
NOTE: Your application must contain a descriptionof both civilian and military experience as it relates to the general andspecialized experience requirements.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement. You must provide proof with application of eligibility to hold appropriate military grade.

Compatible Military Assignments: CMF 89, 91 or 92 (Except MOS 92G)
_SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:_ Study successfully completed in a college, university, or technical school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one (1) year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for six (6) months of experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.
NOTE: Copies of transcripts, certificate of training, etc., must be submitted in application package for substitution to be considered.
